Look what Grandpa Vern bought for Grandma Honey today...
It's early for my birthday. My birthday isn't until Friday. But look what came home from Costco with us today! So I guess he really was listening after all!...
My Knight in Somewhat Rusty Armor gained huge points today in the sensitive, sweet hubby department!
Amy!!! Aren't they just the cutest dishes!? I love them so much and I told Vern the first day we saw them..."You NEED to get me these for my birthday"...LOL...I guess he was listening!
The gig was not so bad after all. It wasn't my number one choice of ways I'd like to spend the day but it was ok...and I scored points for being a supportive wife...LOL...I wonder if that's why I got my wish!?
I love the bowls! When we saw them at Costco the first time I exclaimed to Vern, "Look at these BOWLS!!!"...LOL.
They aren't really a full set of dishes....they are dessert plates, those cute little bowls and coffee cups. I don't plan on using them much here at home. My condo is very "70s" in appearance and until we're able to remodel, they don't "go" at all.
I actually want them for another purpose. Each year at my church we have a big event.."The Womens Tea"...I want to make a tradition of hosting a table each year. Every hostess hosts a table for eight people, including herself. You decorate your own table and use your own things to do it. I want to do a black and white table with the polka dot theme. That's the main thing I wanted these dishes for. I'll find solid black large plates or chargers to pull the set together for the event, and add other items to make a polka dot Christmas themed table between now and then.
My darling granddaughter! OMG Amy...she's geting so big and so cute! She started playing peewee soccer. I posted a video of it here on my blog and also on facebook. Check it out...it will make you smile!
I'm so glad to be connecting with you again...outside of the drama of the forums!
