Monday...it's a new day...

Note: I wrote this post this morning but I just tonight found the time to upload the photos.

It's a brand new day and the beginning of a new week. I've had a good night's sleep and although my back is sore and my thighs ache from squatting and jumping and playing with Autumn, I feel much better....much more centered in the knowledge that none of these circumstances we go through in life ever catch God by surprise. I sometimes amaze myself with how easily I can forget that God is still God and He is still able to bring ultimate good from rotten circumstances.

Last night, sometime in the middle of the night as I was drifting from sleep to wakefulness I had a mental image of Jesus saying, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." That is Matthew 11:28. The amplified version adds this note, "I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls."

What a great reminder straight from God to my weary, burdened heart! So today I begin a new day and a new week with a renewed peace and renewed hope in the knowledge that I don't need to carry this emotional burden over the circumstances around me. I can run to Jesus and find peace for my heart. What a wonderful Savior!

I don't want to give the impression that my weekend with Autumn and with Grandpa Vern, the love of Grandma Honey's life, was all sadness and heavy hearts. We had a wonderful time together. We watched movies, and had tea parties. We made pancakes and made flew to faraway places in magic laundry baskets. We had a picnic in the park and taught Autumn's best friend, Brownowhiteo, to ride a two wheeled bike with training wheels. Fun was had by everyone. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
