Tuesday morning, waiting for the call center to open...

Yesterday morning I woke to a disturbing pain when Cloe laid herself down on my lower abdomen. I wake up every morning to Cloe climbing onto my abdomin for a snuggle, but yesterday it hurt. Then there was the burning and the urgency...Ugghhh! I thought maybe if I had caught it early enough I could just flush my system with tons of water and use over the counter meds to stop the burning. But, sigh, no such luck. I will be calling the call center at Kaiser (a task I loath!) first thing this morning to see if I can get something called in to treat this raging bladder infection I now have. It hurts a lot this morning and the medication is making me feel sick. I am wishing I would have called yesterday! But...it's so expensive by the time you pay all the co-pays...ughh! Ok....enough complaining for one morning.

I had a busy morning and didn't eat until lunch time. I loved this lunch! I had a sandwich made from shaved turkey breast, light bread, lettuce, light mayo, and mustard. I paired it with a serving of Pringles Light potato chips, (these were so good for 70 calories a serving!!!) and a sliced apple with a dipping sauce made from fat free yogurt, cinnamon and stevia. This lunch was 6 points.

The photograph doesn't do this dinner justice. I was starving by the time I got home from work and I wanted something quick and satisfying. I had an evening of studying for my small group bible study ahead of me and I wanted comfort food. So here's what I came up with...

This is a big hash brown made from 6oz of shredded potato. I sprayed a nonstick skillet with cannola oil cooking spray and cooked it until it was brown and crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside. I topped it with scrambled eggs made from one whole egg and two egg whites. I crumbled two Morningstar Farms breakfast patties over the eggs and then topped the whole thing with fat free cheese and salsa. This was delicious! It was quite a few points but I had the points to use and use them I did! 10.5 points.

I also had a bowl of cantaloupe, which is included in the 10.5 points for dinner.

Later in the evening when I was done studying for my bible study group I had a bowl of fat free, sugar free chocolate pudding with one cup of puffed kamut mixed in. This is much yummier than it looks in the photo! 4 points

My total points for the day was 21.5
My target changed to 23 with yesterday's weight loss

ok...I am off to start my day. Here I go, downstairs to get my medical card. The call center opens in 30 minutes. I hope I don't have to be on the phone forever! Listen to me! I need to be grateful that we have medical insurance! OK...attitude adjustment....

hope you are felling better soon. Glad you are sticking with this eating plan and feel happy about the foods you get to eat.
I noticed you don't have bean anything anymore are you burnt out on beans or just too many points to eat them?

Oh and be sure to eat some healthy for you friendly bacteria so when the antibiotics wipe out your gut bacteria you don't get too much yeasties growing and mess up your good eating.
